On October 21, 2021, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Marine Unit (SAVE) was conducting proactive marine patrols on the St. Lawrence River monitoring boating activity.   At 11:25 P.M., police observed a vessel traveling on St. Lawrence River attend a landing on Kawehno:ke (Cornwall Island).
